Why do we call them magic words? Well because when truly understood, these words can change your whole life and overall approach towards it. It is the most underrated super power. Body positivity gives you confidence, structure, you start paying attention to the concept of self-worth. It is an extension of self-empowerment.
Body positivity is about breaking stereotypes
When you are at peace with the beauty of the vessel that carries your soul, you are breaking every stereotype out there that states how one should look or dress or what they should eat. Knowing that only you get to make those decisions for yourself is one of the most important factors that decide how much you understand the concept of being comfortable in your own skin. Age old damaging and deep rooted concepts about bodies and skin colour need to be overlooked so that the real stress is upon being woke and aware of how each and every single person out there is beautiful.
Smiling at yourself in the mirror
When you look at your reflection and feel happy with what you see, you have achieved the goal of incorporating body positivity in your life because those fair and lovely ads, zero size endorsements don’t reflect on your understanding of your body anymore. This is the kind of confidence that you become equipped with when you choose YOU over living up to false standards of the society.
Kill them with kindness
Haters will hate! Unfortunately, there will always be someone too coward to welcome open mindedness over being shallow. For those bullies, the biggest way to show them is by not being bothered by them. That ignorance and endurance are a few of the rewards of body positivity. Embrace those beauty spots and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
Not feeling enraged by someone’s comments on how you look and also not feeling that negativity for someone else’s appearance is a path to inner peace that one leads to through body positivity. There is an inner glow and peace one feels with that kind of positivity surrounding them because you end up extending it to everyone around you.
Not pushing yourself to look a certain way gives you the chance to take care of yourself. This is something most of us skip on because mental health will take care of itself right? Wrong! You have to pay attention! Listen to your body and let it guide you to comprehend how it wants to be looked at. Unfortunately, many men and women out there end up with depression, eating disorders because they are struggling to gather the strength to accept their own bodies. This is something we need to eliminate by first accepting body positivity as a real concept and then endorsing the same through all means and platforms.
After reading the above we would like you to look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself:
“Do I love what I see?”
We really want you take a few minutes to process your answer and really understand where you stand on the whole concept of body positivity.
With so much love and care,
