Teacher’s day – A day to celebrate the people and experiences that make us.

Sana Rashid

Our country started acknowledging and celebrating Teacher’s day every year on 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Vice President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, he was also the second President of India and an educationist at heart. Additionally, he was a celebrated scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna and a class apart academician.

All around the world, Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th October and India first celebrated the auspicious day in 1962. As the common saying goes, the future of a country lies in the hands of the children but it is the teachers that mould those children. “Teachers” appear in our lives in different forms and people and this day is to take a moment to appreciate the presence of the same. It is the people and experiences in life that forever make an impact on the inner child in us helping us to grow and be the versions of ourselves that add value wherever we go.

Since decades, both children and adults have looked forward to this day to pay their gratitude to the teachers of their respective lives. It is a day that reminds us that our willingness to learn and absorb the best from what comes to us in the form of experiences and individuals should never stop, for it is only those who are open to continuous improvisation that actually find a way to make a difference.

On this special day, we at HK Basics want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank one such individual who is responsible for everything that we as a brand have incorporated in our values and that person is Madam Harpreet Kaur. Every step we take is a reflection of what was taught to us by her through her achievements, values and above all her leadership. She will always be our biggest inspiration and we hope to do her justice by imparting her unmatched merits in what we do.

About Honourable Harpreet Kaur Madam

“Being fearless does not require you to be courageous, one simply has to look past or overcome their fears to possess this great quality.” – Harpreet Kaur

Harpreet Ma’am was a visionary who had the ability to see the capabilities in others that no one else could and had a tendency to lead them. Her initiative “Education meets Technology" received acknowledgement from former President of India Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam himself. She was a powerful leader who could see how things can be improved and rallied people to move towards that better version in order to collectively progress towards success.

She possessed all the traits of a great leader, be it integrity, confidence, clarity of mind, good listening skills and always taught us that motivation means to be moved by something so strongly that it becomes an inspiration for you. Furthermore, it is a discipline that helps you to achieve your life goals and also helps us to be successful in our life. To be motivated we need a driving tool or goal that keeps us in that state of mind and she always provided that incentive or a reason to keep going.

She also taught us that work ethics are not something that comes naturally, it is something you have to train yourself to do. She not only pushed us to reach goals but also acted as a guideline for us and helped us to stay on track. Harpreet Ma’am described courage as a necessity to overcome fear and achieve a desired goal.

We thank heavens and our stars that we have someone as courageous as her to always look upto, remember and cherish. She is not only our inspiration; she is HK Basics.

Happy Teacher’s day to all such impactful human beings out there. Thank God you exist!

With so much love and care,

HK Basics
